Sir John Auld Mactaggart 4th bt (born 21 January 1951) is a Scottish entrepreneur and philanthropist.. Mactaggart was educated at Shrewsbury School and Trinity College, Cambridge.〔Burke's Peerage and Baronetage (106th ed.) (Mactaggart)〕 He was Chairman of Central Holdings 1981-1992, Chairman of Western Heritable Investment Co since 1987, Chairman of Bruichladdich Distillery Company 2004-2012 and Chairman of Waterford Distillery Company since 2014- Mactaggart has been involved in a number of charitable organisations,including Thames Valley Housing Association,The Head Injuries Trust for Scotland,Defeating Deafness,Action on Hearing Loss,The Scottish Ballet,Commonweal Housing and Grove End Housing Association amongst others. He has married twice: firstly to Patricia, youngest daughter of Harry Alastair Gordon, son-in-law of Earl Wavell. He married secondly, Caroline, youngest daughter of Eric Charles Williams of Esher. Their children are Jack Auld Mactaggart, born on 11 September 1993; Sholto Auld Mactaggart, born on 16 December 1996; Kinvara May Mactaggart, born on 18 February 1992 and Aphra Hope Mactaggart, born on 8 July 1999.
